There is something particularly exciting about the early stages of a new project. Before the materials are chosen, before the spaces take shape, there is a period of careful planning where ideas begin to form and the potential of a home slowly reveals itself.
We’re delighted to be starting a new project in the beautiful Côte d’Azur in the South of France. While the project is still in its early phases, the groundwork is already underway as we work through the architectural plans with French Plans and begin navigating the local planning process.
Working on international projects always brings a slightly different rhythm. Every country approaches planning regulations and architectural documentation in its own way, so this stage requires a thoughtful and collaborative approach. It’s a time spent understanding the structure in detail, studying the existing architecture, and considering how the spaces can evolve while respecting the character of the property.
For us, this is where the foundations of a successful project are truly set. The careful review of plans, the early conversations about layout and flow, and the first ideas for how the interiors might unfold are all part of shaping a home that feels considered, timeless, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
There is still a great deal of work ahead, but that’s part of what makes a new project so rewarding. We’re looking forward to the journey as the design develops and can’t wait to share more as this home on the Côte d’Azur begins to take shape.
