At Allison & Co, we believe that true luxury design lies in craftsmanship, creativity, and the ability to reimagine what already exists. For our recent Côte d’Azur project, we set out to create a bespoke exterior dining table — one that would feel perfectly at home in its sun-soaked Mediterranean surroundings, while carrying the charm of a piece with history.
It all began with an old iron frame from a weathered exterior table. Rather than replacing it, our team saw the potential to give it new life. We extended and strengthened the frame, preparing it for a handcrafted timber top designed in collaboration with our carpenter.
The surface was formed from four solid and characteristic planks of wood. To complement the design, we sourced metal frames to create two matching benches, each handcrafted to mirror the strength and simplicity of the table’s form. A clear varnish completed the look, enhancing the natural grain of the wood while ensuring durability in an outdoor setting.
Now positioned at the heart of the terrace, centred on a beautiful herringbone limestone tile, the bespoke exterior dining table comfortably seats up to 14. It’s become the perfect setting for long lunches and relaxed evenings — a seamless blend of sustainable design, craftsmanship, and contemporary elegance.
